Contact 7.30's reporters using more secure methods

7.30 takes confidentiality and source protection seriously. If you want to share something you think is sensitive — for instance if you have information you want to share about the inner workings of a government department — we've set out these options to reach our reporters securely. While no one single system is completely secure, these tools can help you communicate in more secure ways with our reporters.

1. Signal

Signal is a free end-to-end encrypted messaging app you can download on iPhone and Android devices. It's easy to use and retains very little metadata. You can contact 7.30 reporters on this dedicated signal number +61 434 756 994. This number can only be contacted through the Signal app.

2. Securedrop

Securedrop is a tool for sources and whistleblowers to anonymously submit documents and communicate with our journalists. You can find out how to use Securedrop on this page here.

3. Encrypted email

7.30 has a dedicated end-to-end encrypted email account using Protonmail which is ABC730tips@protonmail.com. If the email account you are sending from is not secure this option may not be the best method for you.

4. Postal mail
